Senior Motion Graphics Designer

Maker Lab

Posted October 19 / South Korea / Contract / On Site

Grounded in a talent-centric mindset, Maker Lab is a marketing agency designed to build decentralised technology-led agency teams, rooted in collaboration with clients from the ground up.

Maker Lab's cross-functional teams of multidisciplinary specialists are embedded into client teams across digital marketing competencies — from measurement & analytics to content production.

We are looking for a hands-on, digital native with a breadth of Motion Graphics design capabilities and a finger on the pulse of pop culture to join our growing Creative team.

You'll be responsible for ideating and implementing brand, editorial, and marketing programs, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

This is not your traditional agency Senior Motion Graphics Designer role.

Alongside crafting your animation, your job is to come up with fresh, innovative and visually-striking ideas based on the content you watch and consume - how cool is that!

Role:

  • Partnering up with the rest of the team of creatives and integrating with clients' marketing, branding, creative and other teams and departments
  • Drive and inspire dynamic ideas that connect with all types of audiences through quality-driven design
  • Lead projects from an interactive creative point of view, mentor others, provide feedback and oversee creative processes and output.
  • Ideate and execute ideas from beginning to end in a fast-paced working environment
  • Create original visual executions that are exciting, innovative and that respond to the client's business, brand and strategic objectives across the region.
  • Source and manage freelancers, third-party vendors and production partners
  • Maintain client relationships and apply business acumen to develop accounts where possible

You:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in an agency, financial services firm, production house and hyper-growth technology companies
  • A proven record of leading successful campaigns, accounts and teams
  • Experience with cross-channel visual language strategies and execution across digital, social, events and motion
  • You're a motion graphics enthusiast, interactive media advocate and not tied to specific creative and execution formats and able to execute design work across all mediums
  • A multi-faceted designer who knows your Adobe Creative Suite well and you're happy to bounce between all kinds of software (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere), depending on the occasion.
  • You are the product of a graphic designer, an illustrator, a motion graphics and a video editor mixed in a blender
  • You don't just consider yourself a great designer but also an amazing creative. You love coming up with ideas as much as you love spending time crafting them!
  • Your commitment will be to delivering work of the highest quality while working with team members to constantly develop new ideas, staying abreast of new media formats and learning how to incorporate them into campaigns
  • A sharp-eyed, detailed oriented and good design ambassador. You have a strong sense of layout, colour, composition and type
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communications and presentation skills and, ideally, fluent in another Asian language to support the projects spanning APAC

Please note: due to the high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted with a follow-up introduction email.
