ManvsMachine is on the lookout for a visionary and technically accomplished Head of AI to join our pioneering team. This is a pivotal role at the cutting edge of creativity, 3D, VFX, and artificial intelligence — a chance to shape an entire industry.

Someone who lives and breathes the possibilities of AI, constantly pushing its boundaries to define groundbreaking new creative methodologies and outputs. You'll be a technically minded leader, passionate about leveraging AI to unlock unprecedented visual experiences.

You are, at heart, a hands-on 3D/VFX maestro with a proven track record of crafting next-level motion work. Your ideal expertise would include Cinema 4D, Houdini, and Nuke, backed by a deep, intuitive understanding of the entire VFX pipeline.

This isn't merely a tech role. We need a highly passionate, creative leader who will inspire our world-class team, drive groundbreaking projects, and fundamentally define and pioneer the AI pipeline for one of the industry's most prestigious and progressive studios.

What You'll Do:

• Lead AI Strategy & Vision: Chart the strategic direction for AI integration across all our creative projects, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the field.
• Pioneer AI Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and optimize a robust and scalable AI pipeline that seamlessly integrates with our existing 3D and VFX workflows.
• Hands-on R&D: Actively research, experiment with, and deploy cutting-edge AI technologies (generative AI, machine learning for asset creation, simulation, rendering, etc.).
• Educate & Empower: Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and best practices to upskill our artists and foster a culture of AI literacy and innovation across the studio.
• Establish Governance & Ethics: Define clear ethical guidelines, data privacy protocols, and responsible AI usage policies, ensuring transparent and accountable implementation.
• Inspire & Mentor: Lead and grow a dedicated AI team (or integrate AI expertise across existing teams), fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Drive Groundbreaking Projects: Oversee the successful execution of complex, AI-driven motion graphics and VFX projects from concept to final delivery.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Creative Directors, Technical Directors, and producers to identify opportunities for AI enhancement and innovation.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior role within the motion graphics, VFX, or animation industry. 
• Exceptional expertise in AI/machine learning principles, generative models, computer vision, and their practical application in creative workflows.
• Highly proficient and hands-on experience with 3D software (Houdini and/or Cinema 4D).
• A comprehensive understanding of the VFX pipeline, including modelling, rigging, animation, simulation, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
• Demonstrable experience in leading and mentoring creative or technical teams.
• A track record of defining and implementing new technologies and workflows.
• Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to creative and non-technical team members.
• A passion for educating others and fostering innovation.
• A portfolio that showcases your ability to push creative boundaries with technology.

Ideally, you’d be located in London, UK. However, we are open to a remote position for the right person.
