This Senior Motion Graphics Compositor role joins the growing Exo Sphere Creative Design Services (CDS) Production team in the early development of technology and content for the Exo Sphere. 

This artist is key in the final finishing and look of all content that goes up on Exo Sphere, versed in years of compositing logic and creative solutions.

An integral part of our Production and Creative team, responsible for the execution and compositing of visual content across a gamut of immersive experiences and Ads on Exo Sphere. 

The ideal candidate is progressive, forward-thinking, values design, storytelling, animation, innovation, and enjoys pushing the creative boundaries to visualize the unseen. 

They work with the Creative Directors, VFX Supervisors, and project leadership to contribute to the execution of large-scale content production, delivering world-class ideas and first-of-its-kind experiences and innovations. 

This artist will be part of a larger Production team creating final content for the Exo Sphere venue.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary:

  • Apply design thinking to solving Exo Sphere-specific content challenges.
  • Lead and guide other artists, producing high-level content.
  • Responsible for compositing intricate sequences that may include multi-pass CG elements, live action, 2D elements, and other footage.
  • Work through the lifecycle of a shot, including roto, tracking, or paint work.
  • Act as a 3D generalist and main compositor for the MoGraph team.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends in art, design, and AI technology.
  • Work with supervisors to address notes from clients or creative teams to finalize shots.
  • Assist supervisors with creating schedules and timelines for projects.
  • Assist in video or photo shoots if required for projects.
  • Assist in preparation of sequences in various formats for review with clients or other departments.
  • Mentor junior artists or other motion graphics artists in compositing techniques.
  • Create templates in Nuke and After Effects for workflow efficiencies and plugins.
  • Document tools and techniques for departmental reference.
  • Collaborate with the team to solve complex challenges and contribute to best practices and workflows from development to compositing.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

 Qualifications:

  • Demo reel/portfolio demonstrating a variety of motion design work.
  • 5-10 years of experience working as a MoGraph artist/2D/3D animator.
  • Advanced knowledge in compositing live-action and CG renders.
  • Experience working in high-end VFX pipelines for commercials, VR, film, TV, or theme parks is a plus.
  • Previous work experience in VR or spherical projects is desired.
  • Expert knowledge in Nuke and Adobe Creative Suite, with adaptability to other software like Houdini, Maya, Cinema 4D, Resolve/Fusion, and other 2D/3D digital content creation tools.
  • Knowledge of rendering engines such as Redshift.
  • Knowledge of Disguise D3, Notch, and Touch Designer.
  • Exceptional attention to visual and typographical aesthetics.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects from concept to deployment.
  • Positive attitude and proven track record in creative problem solving with an interest in new technology and processes.
  • Software agnosticism a plus; adaptability to new pipelines and utilization of provided tools is critical.

Pay Range

$164,000—$205,000 USD
