SimplePractice is seeking a Motion Designer & Video Editor hybrid role to join our in-house creative team. 

We’re looking for a detail-oriented creative who’s excited about the art of motion design, video editing, and post-production and possesses the grit and passion to elevate each project they work on. 

You must have strong communication and organizational skills to guarantee that we always deliver the highest quality assets and deliverables to support our growing team. 

As a Video Editor + Motion Designer at SimplePractice, you’ll join the video group and play an essential role providing critical support across the organization. 

You’ll work closely with the creative and design teams as well as different stakeholders in marketing and other content teams to help edit and deliver Marketing Videos including Social, Paid Ads, Internal and External Communications, Event Videos, Motion Animations, and more,

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality motion graphics, animations, and videos that align with our brand and marketing objectives including storyboard and animatics working closely with our design team and in-house animator
  • Perform the full range of video editing including ingest, syncing, cutting, audio mixing, color correction, delivery and file management in support of the Marketing Group and Creative Team
  • Continue to evolve the SimplePractice brand through application of current trends and best practices
  • Work closely with Video Producers and in-house Creatives ensuring creative consistency and excellence across all deliverables and alignment with marketing goals and best practices
  • Optimize visual content for different digital platforms such as social, mobile, web and live events
  • Sound mix including audio design utilizing stock audio platforms and music explorations and implementation
  • Work within brand guidelines to create video content that reinforce the brand’s style and voice
  • Review the scripts and project briefs to better understand the video production requirements and vision as well as work closely and collaborate with Video/Creative Team to ensure alignment across post-production
  • Organize and manage audio and video assets to ensure a smooth workflow and archive processes including maintaining and updating our Google Drive and DAM systems
  • Provide on-set VFX supervision for video and animation when needed 
  • Project manage and document progress across all projects for visibility across teams
  • Identify issues and develop solutions/tools in the post-production workflow to better increase efficiency in production

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong preference to be based in Los Angeles or greater Los Angeles area
  • 5+ years of experience in video editing + motion design  in an Agency or In-house capacity
  • A strong eye for visual composition, pacing and storytelling and sound/music for picture
  • Proven experience creating videos and motion design across videos of multiple scales
  • Knowledge and interest in AI video/motion tools is required
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and initiates projects without direct oversight
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to effectively take direction and collaborate with creative and art directors, stakeholders, and other members of the team
  • Growth mindset
  • Mastery of marketing and brand guidelines and how to tailor creative to fit objectives
  • Proficient with industry-standard editing software: Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition) and Davinci Resolve)
  • Basic knowledge of other programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop

Base Compensation Range

$100,000 - $125,000 annually

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
