HubSpot is looking for a Motion Designer to support our global team. 

As a Motion Designer, you will be responsible for creating motion graphics videos and supporting creative in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

In this role, you will work closely with a team of editors and producers to execute and deliver videos that drive the brand forward. 

You will also be responsible for creating sustainable, long-term customer value from our videos in our educational and brand spaces.  

The right person for this role is driven by helping their team achieve incredible results. 

They are passionate about creating great video content that is crafted for specific channels and audiences. 

They can ideate against a brief, design and storyboard out an idea, sell a concept through to stakeholders and fellow creatives and can execute on that idea. 

They know how to communicate effectively and use data-driven insights to surface theories, improve results and meet KPIs as well as lead to better ideas. 

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Develop original breakthrough motion design thinking for a variety of brand and product touchpoints.
  • Contribute to crafting and pitching new video concepts as part of our product marketing initiatives as well as YouTube channels that are watched by millions globally.
  • Design, storyboard and execute the work with a pipeline of video producers to get the concept approved and out into the market.
  • Inspire and work with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting edge experiences and tell compelling stories. 
  • Understand the look, feel, and voice of HubSpot to maintain and push forward brand guidelines.
  • Work alongside the media and strategy teams to create work across various platforms. 
  • Contribute to our unique global team culture. 

We’re looking for people who:

  • Are proficient with Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience working with 3D animation software is a plus.
  • Can both enhance live-action videos with intricate and engaging animations and identify where fully animated pieces can help drive the narrative and goals of the campaign.
  • Have experience in collaborating with the team of video editors, producers, product managers and marketers to deliver compelling graphics for a variety of different projects.
  • Are able to follow brand guidelines with a keen eye for detail.
  • Are able to effectively multitask as well as assess and resolve technical and creative issues methodically in a timely, scalable manner.
  • Are able to work and communicate within a team structure while able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Have experience aligning with stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met and adjust creative accordingly.
  • Understand the tech industry and/or have prior experience working at a tech company.
  • Are knowledgeable about creative pipelines, project workflows, video archiving and data management best practices.
  • Stay abreast of the changing creative landscape and video technologies.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and departments. 
  • Have experience working in a remote video environment. 
  • Have familiarity with using FrameIO and Asana is a plus.



Cash compensation range: 

$88,000-$132,000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
