
BUCK is seeking a full-time Lead 3D Artist to join our fast-growing team. This role is based in our Amsterdam studio.
Requirements
6+ Years of experience working in an industry relevant to the skillset.
Able to execute at least 3 of the following at a high level:
- Character Modeling and/or Hard Surface Modeling
- Look-development and Texturing
- Scene assembly and Lighting
- 3D Compositing (Nuke)
- VFX Compositing (Nuke)
- Technical and Mo-graph Animation
- FX/Simulation
- 3D Design
Strong organisational skills and discipline tracking your own work.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to do self-directed learning.
Ability to follow feedback and instruction from supervisors and leads.
General understanding of the 3D pipeline and the flexibility to be able to play different roles depending on the project.
Software Requirements
Intimate software knowledge of at least 1 of the following 3D packages:
- Maya
- Houdini
- Cinema 4D
Relevant render engines:
- V-Ray
- Redshift
Bonus software knowledge:
- ZBrush
- Substance Designer
- Substance Painter
- Nuke
- Python Scripting
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the rest of the 3D Team to produce high quality 3D imagery.
- Partner with Designers and Creative Directors to produce styleframes and designs for project pitches.
- Be the point of contact for producers and creative directors on smaller projects with no other Lead 3D Artist assigned.
- Partner with the Creative Technology department in order to generate real-time ready assets.
- Investigate new workflows, tools and efficiencies within the department.
- Help solve technical issues with your own work as well as helping teammates.
- Help with mentoring team members, when needed.
Nice to haves
- Experience with look development and lighting in Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Scripting skills, ideally in Python.
- Interest or proficiency in AI-driven 3D workflows.
